There is a reason we don’t do much breaking news. For one, the news is broken enough already. But on a more serious note, initial news reports are often inaccurate, even when the news is from trusty sources.
Yesterday, I sent out a missive titled “Uh Oh” to report that a Russian missile had entered Poland, a member of NATO, killing two people, as reported by multiple news outlets. However, it now appears that the missile was Ukrainian and not Russian in origin.
I have unpublished that post and I’m sending this out as a correction. I don’t believe I made an error other than perhaps jumping the gun, but accountability and accuracy are crucial because we want to have your trust.
It was an important piece of news. I would have updated it without deleting the original. Zelensky is still denying that it was shot from and by Ukraine. It looks as though Ukraine might have deployed it hoping to push Poland to unleash NATO on Russia, although that would start WWIII. I state that conditionally, as a possibility which it is good to be aware of, nothing has been proven as far as I know.
